By Giorgio Panetta CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer Good evening all, We had a chilly one all day today. This morning saw low temps down below freezing up north. Barryville, New York started the day at 30 degrees. Central Park recorded a low of 41 degrees — well below our average of 47 degrees. Temps did not warm up too much by this afternoon. We topped off around 52 degrees with a biting west wind. We did have a good risk of fire weather today due to the very low humidity. But thankfully, no major breakouts occurred. (Credit: CBS2) Frost and freeze alerts are currently in effect through the morning hours. We only recover to the mid-50s by Friday’s finish. Check back in soon for the latest. –G
