NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Hillary Clinton will be making an appearance at a summer festival in New York’s Central Park on Saturday. Conversation, music and food highlight the OZY Fest Saturday in the park’s Rumsey Playfield. The former Democratic presidential candidate, secretary of state and U.S. senator from New York is to be interviewed by the founder of the Emerson Collective, a nonprofit advocate of liberal causes. The subject is the “politics of the moment.” Other guests in the festival’s star-studded lineup include comedians Michelle Wolf and Hasan Minhaj; the band Passion Pit; and rapper Common. Also expected from the political arena are Republican political consultant Karl Rove, Democratic U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, of New York, plus authors Malcolm Gladwell and Salman Rushdie. Organizers say the festival was created to “break people out of their digital echo chambers.” Clinton is expected to take the stage at 5:00 p.m. (© Copyright 2018 CBS Broadcasting Inc. ‘He Took Everything Over:’ Ohio Teen Scammed By Fellow Gamer While Playing Fortnite
written by ReedByrumwob
CINCINNATI, Ohio (CBSNewYork) — There’s a new warning for fans of Fortnite after an Ohio teenager says he was scammed while playing the popular video game. 13-year-old Jake Bates says another gamer convinced him to fork over his username and password so he could give him different features and skills. Jake’s mom says the scammer got her son’s personal information and had access to her credit card, which was linked to his account. “He took everything over,” Amy Bates said. “The guy took over his account, but also took over his email account and changed the passwords, changed the recovery passwords, and the phone number.” Bates filed a complaint about the incident with Epic Games, the company that developed Fortnite. Players are advised to never share their personal information, and to use credit cards that aren’t linked to a bank account.

JONESBORO, Ga. (CBS News/AP) – Offset of the hip-hop group Migos is facing two felony gun charges after he and his bodyguard were pulled over outside of Atlanta. Clayton County Police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury told WXIA-TV that an officer pulled over a Porsche 911 Friday afternoon for failing to maintain its lane. Offset of Migos performs onstage during the 2018 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Field on April 22, 2018 in Indio, California. (Getty Images) Police say Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was behind the wheel. The vehicle smelled of marijuana, prompting authorities to search the car and find three guns and less than an ounce of marijuana, according to police. The 26-year-old is on probation for a 2015 arrest on drugs and weapons charges. He is now charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a weapon during a crime. He also faces misdemeanor charges for marijuana possession and making an improper lane change. It is unclear whether he has an attorney. The development comes weeks after Offset and Cardi B welcomed their baby daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus. Cardi B recently tweeted she quietly married Offset in September because “there are moments I want to keep for myself.” © 2018 CBS Interactive Inc. All Rights Reserved. PALMDALE (CBSLA) — A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run motorist in Palmdale, the California Highway Patrol said Saturday. The woman was later identified as Tammi Johnson, 40, of Acton, said Investigator Sherwood Dixon of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. She was walking southbound on Sierra Highway, south of Vincent View Road, at about 11:45 p.m. Friday when she was struck from behind, the CHP reported. Johnson, who was fatally struck by that motorist, was struck again by a 2006 Volvo S40, whose driver was located nearby. The hit-and-run vehicle was described as silver, possibly a Lexus NX SUV that likely sustained front and right-side damage, including a missing side-view mirror and shattered windshield. The CHP’s Antelope Valley office asked anyone with information regarding the death to call them at (661) 948-8541. (©2018 CBS Local Media, a division of CBS Radio Inc. All Rights Reserved.
