LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Another snack food is under recall Wednesday. Kraft Heinz is recalling about 7,000 cases of its Taco Bell Cheese dip due to risk of botulism. The dips under recall are the 15-ounce jars of Taco Bell Salsa Con Queso mild cheese dip that have a use-by date ranging from Oct. 31, 2018 to Jan. 23, 2019. The dip had showed signs that it could allow for the growth of bacteria, which causes botulism. Consumers should not eat the product, even if it does not look or smell spoiled. No illnesses have been reported. The cheese dip can be returned to stores or call 1-800-310-3704 for a full refund. The cheese dip recall is the third snack food to be recalled this week. Several varieties of Ritz Cracker products were recalled Monday and four types of Goldfish Crackers were recalled Tuesday, both for possible salmonella risk.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA) – Investigators are searching for a homeless man accused of breaking into a North Hollywood church early Wednesday morning and vandalizing it to the tune of approximately $100,000 in damage. NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes will have surgery on both feet to relieve chronic pain in his heels and is likely to need at least eight to months to recover. Cespedes had an MRI and was examined by a specialist Monday in an effort to determine whether he needed surgery related to all the lower-body injuries that have kept him off the field so much since he signed a $110 million, four-year contract in November 2016. The MRI and tests on Cespedes showed bone calcifications in both the right and left heels. Cespedes was placed on the disabled list Tuesday. (Photo by Elsa/Getty Images) The two-time All-Star had returned from the disabled list Friday after missing two months with a strained right hip flexor and homered at Yankee Stadium. But after the game, the 32-year-old Cespedes said both heels have bothered him for 15 years. He has played 119 games in 1 1/2 seasons. (© Copyright 2018 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved. Chatham, Mass. (CBS Boston/ CBS Local) – Fishermen hoping to catch stripers off Monomoy Island hooked one, but then they got more they bargained for. A 12-foot great white decided he wanted the bass, so he helped himself, chomping on the striper. The charter captain was amazed. Shark bites fish next to boat off Monomoy Island (Image from Magellan Deep Sea Fishing Charters) “At one point the shark had the striper in its mouth all the way up to the gills,” Captain Len Greiner said. “And he pulled real hard and he snatched it out of the shark’s mouth. So the shark came back and bit its tail off and then was trying to get the rest of it, swam right up to the boat and almost pinned it against the boat.” The fisherman won the nautical tug of war, landing the striper, but the shark took a few bites for himself. Striped Bass bitten by shark off Monomoy Island (Image from Magellan Deep Sea Fishing Charters) “Followed it right up to the boat it was so cool to see it,” Captain Len said. “They’re so girthy it was probably 700 pounds, 800 pounds.” Captain Len is an experienced fisherman. He has seen an awful lot on the water over the years, but this hungry shark provided something brand new. “No I’ve never seen a shark be that aggressive, never, no and he was all excited his tail was all up and what not,” Len said.

SYLMAR (CBSLA) — A man was shot and wounded in the leg while driving overnight on the 210 Freeway in Sylmar. The apparently random shooting was reported to police at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday by the driver, who had managed to make his way off the freeway and to a nearby business so he could call for help. The driver was also able to put a tourniquet around the wound to help stop the bleeding. The shots were fired as the man was driving on the 210 Freeway near Maclay Avenue in Sylmar. Two bullets pierced a passenger-side window and a rear window, one of them hitting the driver in the leg. The driver was not able to get a good look at the shooter, but described the suspect vehicle as a late 90s or early 2000s white Ford Explorer. He has since been taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. Tuesday night’s 210 freeway shooting is believed to be the second in as many weeks, but it’s not known if they’re connected.
