The Studio City home known as “The Brady Bunch house” because its exteriors were used on the show is on the market for the first time in nearly 50 years. The two-bedroom, three-bathroom home in the 11200 block of Dilling Street, adjacent to the Los Angeles River, is being offered for nearly $1.9 million, according to agent Ernie Carswell. He says the home is “the second most photographed home in the United States after the White House.” The home was last sold in 1973 for $60,000. Several homes in the area have been demolished recently, so the owners will give preference to bidders who want to keep the home intact, Carswell told the Los Angeles Times. “The Brady Bunch” aired between 1969 and 1974. (Getty Images) Joseph Lewis, 18, was taken into late Wednesday night on felony domestic violence charges, according to TMZ. Lewis was arrested by Los Angeles police at 10:40 p.m. and booked at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, according to L.A. County jail inmate records. He is being held on $100,000 bail. The arrest stemmed from a physical altercation between Lewis and a woman, TMZ reports. Following the alleged altercation, the woman fled and called police. On the afternoon of Feb. 12, Lewis was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. In May, as part of a deal with prosecutors, he plead no contest to two count of misdemeanor battery with an injury and received 36 months of probation and a 60-day jail sentence, according to the Los Angeles Times. He was released from jail on July 6, the Times reports. It’s unclear if the second incident involved the same victim. Following his first arrest, Lewis was suspended from all USC team activities. WASHINGTON (CBS NEWS) — President Trump again expressed confidence in U.S. intelligence agencies and their assessment of Russian interference Wednesday, but declined to say whether he believes Vladimir Putin was lying when he denied Russia was behind the meddling effort. Mr. Trump made the comments in an interview with “CBS Evening News” anchor Jeff Glor at the White House. Mr. Trump said he believes it’s “true” Russia meddled in the 2016 election and said he directly warned Putin against interfering in U.S. elections during their one-on-one meeting in Helsinki, Finland, on Monday. Asked what he said to Putin, Mr. Trump responded, “Very strong on the fact that we can’t have meddling, we can’t have any of that … I let him know that we can’t have this, we’re not going to have it, and that’s the way it’s going to be.” Mr. Trump also expressed confidence in Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, whose dire warnings about U.S. hacking vulnerabilities he had questioned in a previous interview. “Well, I accept. I mean, he’s an expert,” Mr. Trump said Wednesday. “This is what he does. He’s been doing a very good job. I have tremendous faith in Dan Coats, and if he says that, I would accept that. I will tell you though, it better not be. It better not be.” Mr. Trump said he also accepts Coats’ assessment that the threat from Russia is ongoing. But he declined to say whether his faith in the intelligence community leads him to the conclusion that Putin’s denials are untrue. “So if you believe U.S. intelligence agencies, is Putin lying to you?” Glor asked. “I don’t want to get into whether or not he’s lying,” Mr. Trump said. “I can only say that I do have confidence in our intelligence agencies as currently constituted. I think that Dan Coats is excellent. I think that [CIA Director] Gina [Haspel] is excellent. I think we have excellent people in the agencies, and when they tell me something, it means a lot.” Mr. Trump has been on the defensive for the past two days after failing to defend the intelligence community during a press conference with Putin in Helsinki. Standing beside the Russian leader, Mr. Trump seemed to lend credence to Putin’s insistence that his government was not involved in the effort to influence the 2016 campaign. In the face of withering backlash among even those in his own party, Mr. Trump on Tuesday said he misspoke, attempting to clarify that he believed the intelligence community. On Wednesday, the president said he now has confidence in intelligence agencies, but blasted former leaders like former DNI James Clapper and former CIA Directors John Brennan and Michael Hayden. All three have been vociferous critics of the president — after the president’s press conference in Helsinki, Brennan said Mr. Trump’s performance was “nothing short of treasonous.” Mr. Trump called Brennan a “low-life” in Wednesday’s interview, saying that “in the past, it’s been terrible.” Following the airing of the CBS interview, Clapper responded to Mr. Trump’s comments on CNN. “I think I’m speaking for John Brennan and Mike Hayden, it’s almost a badge of honor, when the President sees fit to go after individual private citizens,” said Clapper. “And I think I can speak as well for all of us to say, and I include Jim Comey in this, the only reason we’ve spoken out about all this is our genuine concerns about this President and this Presidency and its assaulting values and institutions and standards of this country which collectively we’ve spent decades defending.” Earlier Wednesday, Mr. Trump sparked confusion about where he stands on whether Russia is continuing to target the U.S., given Coats’ assessment that the threat to America’s digital infrastructure is current. When he said “no,” she said, he was not answering the reporter’s question about whether he thought Russia is still targeting the U.S. “I had a chance to speak with the president after those comments, and the president was — said ‘Thank you very much,’ and was saying ‘No’ to answering questions,” Sanders said, answering a question from CBS News chief White House correspondent Major Garrett. A city spokesperson told CBS Philly on Tuesday that a festival on the scale of Made in America “may no longer be necessary” at the location on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, steps in front of Philadelphia’s iconic art museum. “When the festival first started, it was intended to provide a unique attraction to the city on the otherwise quiet Labor Day weekend,” the spokesperson said. “Over the years, tourism has grown overall and the need for an event of this scale at this location may no longer be necessary.” In a Philadelphia Inquirer column Wednesday, Jay-Z accused the city of making a decision before consulting organizers, calling it a failure on Mayor Jim Kenney’s part. “We are disappointed that the Mayor of the City of Philadelphia would evict us from the heart of the city, through a media outlet , without a sit-down meeting, notice, dialogue or proper communication. It signifies zero appreciation for what Made In America has built alongside the phenomenal citizens of this city,” said Jay-Z, adding that the city allegedly tried to stop this year’s event. It’s unclear if the festival would continue and where it would be held. Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill and Post Malone are set to perform this year. According to the city, they will continue working with Made in America and producers Roc Nation to scout a new festival location within Philadelphia for 2019. Williams said in an Instagram post Tuesday that she has “sought help from a great team of health care professionals.” She gave no specifics on her treatment. Williams’ post says that for years she has dedicated herself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to seek help. She says she recently decided to listen to the advice she has given, and wants to lead by example in seeking treatment. SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA/AP) — California health officials say an infant has died from whooping cough — the first such infant death in the state since 2016. The Department of Public Health said Tuesday that the baby was from San Bernardino County but didn’t provide any other details. Two infants died of the disease in 2016. Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, is a highly contagious respiratory ailment that can spread through coughing. Dr. Karen Smith, director of the state health department, says the latest death is especially tragic because the disease is preventable. “This serves as a grim reminder that whooping cough is always present in our communities, and immunizations are the first line of defense,” she said in a statement. Health officials urge expectant mothers to get a whooping cough booster shot. Parents are urged to immunize babies as soon as possible. The symptoms of whooping cough vary by age. Young infants may not have typical whooping cough symptoms and no apparent cough, while older children may start out with a runny nose and cough for up to two weeks that can worsen in rapid coughing spells that end with a whooping sounds. SOUTH LA (CBSLA) — Eight months after her son was shot and killed, Nicole Williams still can’t believe he’s gone. “Every day I cannot believe this is real. I want to wake up and believe this was a dream,” said Williams. “I love him so much. I miss him so much. It’s an indescribable pain.” The LAPD says on November 14th, Antonio Maurice Wilson, who everyone called Tony, was one of several people standing in a parking lot at a shopping center on 43rd Street and Vermont. The 27-year-old had just picked up his food and was on his way home when someone walked up and fired shots at the crowd. The shooter then ran back to a car where a driver was waiting. They took off, but Antonio was shot many times. At the hospital, his mother Nicole was at his side. “I asked him several times when he was awake, ‘Tony, do you know who did this to you, what happened?’ He just kept saying no, he did not know them. His tears were rolling down, He just kept shaking his head no,” said Williams. After 16 days in the hospital, Tony passed away. Nicole soon focused her energy into helping police find her son’s killer. The LAPD says Tony was an innocent bystander in a shooting that was retaliation against a local rival gang. They believe there were people there who saw the shooter and have information, Nicole is angry they aren’t coming forward. “You are being held hostage in your own community. You can become a victim, your mother, your child, your family member could become a victim of the same people because you’re allowing them to still walk the streets.” As Nicole continues her fight for justice, she’s had to help Tony’s 7-year-old son understand what happened to his father — a loving, funny, and talented singer. She hopes a $50,000 reward will help convince someone to speak up. “Stop being concerned about being a snitch. WASHINGTON (AP) — A record 10 home runs. A slew of strikeouts. The all-or-nothing All-Star Game mirrored what baseball has become. Astros teammates Alex Bregman and George Springer homered on consecutive pitches to begin the 10th inning, and the American League beat the National League 8-6 Tuesday night for its sixth straight win. Mike Trout, Aaron Judge and Jean Segura also connected for the AL in a game where every run except one scored on a homer. Scooter Gennett hit a tying two-run shot off Seattle closer Edwin Diaz in the bottom of the ninth. Joey Votto, Willson Contreras, Trevor Story, Christian Yelich also went deep for the NL. There had never been more than six homers in an All-Star Game since Babe Ruth hit the very first one in 1933. Not that everything went the sluggers’ way. Starters Max Scherzer and Chris Sale and the relievers combined to fan 15 in the first 4 1/2 innings, and there were 24 strikeouts overall. Fitting, because this season is on pace to become the first with more strikeouts than hits, a year after a record number of home runs. Orioles shortstop Manny Machado had fun, pulling out a camera to snap a selfie at second base after Matt Kemp doubled. By Wednesday, they could be teammates — Baltimore seems ready to trade Machado, with the Dodgers and Phillies in the mix. Major League Baseball, meanwhile, seemed to take a selfie of itself at this game, with all the homers and strikeouts. This was MLB 2.018, an update that’s not appealing to everyone. Declining attendance is a concern, and the sport’s owners worry that slower games with less action on the bases are taking a toll. A day after hometown star Bryce Harper electrified the crowd by winning the Home Run Derby, it was eerily quiet for most of the evening at Nationals Park. Harper didn’t excite the fans, either, fanning in his two at-bats. The popular Presidents Race at the park drew the biggest cheer in the middle innings, with the big-headed George Washington character prevailing. The only thing missing was a bevy of defensive shifts. Overloaded infields are the norm now, but AL manager A.J. Hinch of Houston and NL skipper Dave Roberts of the Dodgers pretty much played things straight up. Bregman and Springer homered off losing pitcher Ross Stripling of the Dodgers — that’s kind of how last year ended, too, with Houston battering Los Angeles pitchers in the World Series. “I’ve seen it before. I haven’t seen it before in an All-Star Game like this,” Hinch said. “Pretty proud of them.” Bregman smiled all around the bases and earned MVP honors. Segura’s three-run homer in the eighth landed in the bullpen and broke a 2-all tie. The Seattle infielder popped up the previous pitch, but Votto, Cincinnati’s reliable first baseman, dropped it for an error as he approached the dugout railing. Segura then connected off Milwaukee’s Josh Hader, one of baseball’s most dominant relievers. Judge homered in the second off Scherzer, the Nationals ace who became the first reigning Cy Young Award winner to start an All-Star Game in his home park. There was another judge at the park besides the Yankees slugger — Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee. Trout kept up his All-Star excellence, tagging Mets righty Jacob deGrom. A two-time MVP in his event, Trout is 7 for 15 with five extra-base hits and three walks in these games. Diaz wound up with the win and Toronto’s J.A. Happ got a save after giving up Votto’s homer. The AL won for the 18th time in 21 games played to a decision, and leads the series 44-43-2. NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — One person has died of Legionnaires’ disease in a cluster of 18 cases in a pair of upper Manhattan neighborhoods, city health officials confirmed on Tuesday. The city Health Department said that seven people remain hospitalized due to the outbreak localized in the lower Washington Heights and Hamilton Heights areas. Health officials say they have inspected 20 cooling towers and ordered several building owners to increase their use of biocides to kill the bacteria associated with the disease. Legionnaires’ is a form of pneumonia contracted by breathing in water droplets contaminated with the bacterium Legionella. Most cases can be traced to plumbing systems where conditions are favorable for Legionella growth. The disease is not passed from person to person. Mr. Trump made those comments at the beginning of a meeting with members of Congress, claiming he meant to say in the meeting in Helsinki, Finland, that he had no reason to think it was anyone other than Russia that interfered in the 2016 election. Mr. Trump made the comments in the face of a flood of criticism, even from Republicans, over his meeting and press conference Monday with Putin. In that press conference, Mr. Trump appeared to side with Putin over his won intelligence agencies on the subject of election meddling. Still, Mr. Trump emphasized that any actions Russia took had no impact on the presidential election, and diplomacy with Russia is important. The president called his meeting with Putin more successful than his NATO meeting, claiming he and Putin made progress on conflicts. Mr. Trump, as he has in the past, emphasized that getting along with Russia is a desirable thing. The president, according to the White House press cool, ignored a question as to whether he will publicly condemn Putin. Only a small handful of Republicans, like Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, have defended Mr. Trump . Director of National Intelligence Dan Coates issued a statement following the Putin meeting that clearly broke with Mr. Trump’s stance during the Putin press conference. The president’s comments alongside members of Congress came after he seemed to double down on his press conference with Putin earlier in the day. PASADENA (CBSLA) – Pasadena police are expected to release dash cam video Tuesday which officials claim will exonerate two officers who are accused in a lawsuit of sexually assaulting a mother and her adult daughter during a traffic stop more than two years ago. The two women filed a $25 million civil rights lawsuit in U.S. district court in April against the city of Pasadena and the Pasadena Police Department over a traffic stop that occurred on the afternoon of May 2, 2016, in the area of Altadena Drive and Foothill Boulevard. According to the complaint, the officers, identified as Brendan Thebeau and Carey (no last name given), violated the civil rights of 43-year-old Sharell Thompson, and her daughter, 22-year-old Sharaya Brown. In a statement to CBS2 Monday, Officer Lisa Derderian, a Pasadena police spokeswoman, called the allegations “baseless and said “the claims on which the lawsuit rests are easily proven false.” “The in-car camera footage from the patrol car clearly shows that the officers acted appropriately.” Derderian wrote that the officers initiated the traffic stop “based upon a detective investigation and traffic violation witnessed by police.” The officers “remained professional the entire time,” Derderian wrote. They conducted “necessary searches of the individuals –a waist-band check for weapons — and of the vehicle.” Derderian went on: “After the vehicle and individuals were searched and questioned, they were free to leave the scene.” The lawsuit, however, contends the officers physically searched the women without probable cause or justification, with one of the male officers “using his bare hands to rub between (the) legs,” in the areas of the “crotch” and “buttocks” and inside the pants of the daughter. The suit alleges that one of the officers forced the mother to lift her shirt and “expose her breasts” in public view. Even though the mother immediately drove to the Pasadena Police Department after the stop to lodge a complaint, the police department failed to seriously investigate the claims and refused to take any disciplinary action against the officers, the lawsuit alleges. SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Police say a London woman was impaled by a beach umbrella on the Jersey shore. The Asbury Park Press reports 67-year-old Margaret Reynolds was at Seaside Heights Monday afternoon when part of the umbrella pierced her right ankle and was driven completely through due to the “force of the wind.” Police say a woman was impaled by a beach umbrella at the Jersey shore on July 16, 2018. (credit: Instagram @inster4coins/CBS2) Borough Police Chief Tommy Boyd says fire crews had to use a bolt cutter on the umbrella to free the woman and put her in an ambulance.
