( CBS Baltimore ) — The AFC North remains the most competitive division in football, with three likely playoff contenders and a Cincinnati Bengals team that can beat anyone in a given week. They’ll get their first crack at the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. The Cleveland Browns welcome back running back Nick Chubb, who should be able to do some damage against a Houston Texans defense that can’t stop anyone. The Baltimore Ravens, meanwhile, will look to work through a few issues on offense against the New England Patriots, who have quite a few issues of their own. Rick Ritter, CBS Baltimore anchor and host of the Ravens’ ‘Purple Pregame’ show, breaks down AFC North matchups for Week 10. All times listed are Eastern. Houston Texans @ Cleveland Browns, Sunday, November 15 @ 1:00 p.m. (FOX) The Texans defense is among the worst in the NFL. And against the run, they are the absolute worst, allowing 159.5 yards per game. According to Ritter, “I don’t think anybody in the NFL, jumping over to the defense real quick, is scared of that Texans D. Going into last week’s game against Jacksonville, they were giving up 31 points per game, which is just hard to believe.” An explosive Browns offense should be able to move the ball at will, especially with Nick Chubb returning from injury. “It seems likely they’re going to be getting Nick Chubb back, which is a huge addition to that offense,” says Ritter. “When Chubb is healthy and Kareem Hunt is healthy, it’s hard to argue that there’s a better running game in the entire league. Those two just go together so well.” > > READ: Fantasy Football Start Or Sit Week 10: ‘Jared Goff Has Top Five Potential’ Against Seahawks The Browns passing game might be a story of addition by subtraction. “We talk about Odell Beckham going out for the season with that injury,” says Ritter. “Baker [Mayfield] actually looked better without Beckham. So can he keep that up if he doesn’t have to worry about forcing somebody the ball? Obviously, there was a little drama there this season, with him demanding the ball.” The Browns defense will have their hands full with Deshaun Watson. “That offense is explosive,” says Ritter. “They can score at the drop of a dime. They had two touchdowns last week, a 55-yarder and a 77-yarder. I don’t think there’s a defense in the league that Brandin Cooks and Will Fuller can’t get behind, when they have the opportunity. So they can put up points.” Myles Garrett and company will look to make Watson’s life difficult, while the Browns offense controls the ball and the clock on the ground. “It will be closer than people think,” says Ritter. “But I think the Browns get this win.” Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday, November 15 @ 4:25 p.m. (FOX) The Steelers are the NFL’s last remaining undefeated team , and they’ve beaten the Bengals in their last 10 matchups. Some of the Steelers’ wins this season have been close; they only beat the Dallas Cowboys by five points last week. Likewise, some of the Bengals’ losses have been close. Cincinnati also has an extra week of rest, with their bye following a nice win over the Tennessee Titans. Even with all that in mind, “it is hard to bet against the Steelers right now,” says Ritter, “assuming Big Ben and company are fine, with some of them being placed on that COVID list . This is a crazy stat to throw out here. If Ben Roethlisberger keeps up on this pace, he is going to break his single-season touchdown record at 38 years old, which is really just hard to believe. Up there is Pittsburgh, they have three wide receivers out of that organization. JuJu Smith-Schuster seemed to start coming along the last couple of games. He looked great against Dallas. Obviously, Chase Claypool, we know what he can do. And Diontae Johnson. Roethlisberger has a slew of weapons at his disposal.” > > READ: NFL Week 10 NFC North Picks: Dalvin Cook ‘Has Been Tremendous Since His Return,’ Says SportsLine’s Kenny White And the Steelers defense can be dominant, allowing 317.4 yards and 20.1 points per game. They’ve also piled up 32 sacks, best in the league. Bengals rookie QB Joe Burrow has endured his fair share of sacks, but it hasn’t seemed to slow him down. “Don’t sleep on this guy,” says Ritter. “He’s a competitor. He knows how to go out and play.” And he has a few weapons around him, with A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. “I can’t talk enough about Tee Higgins,” says Ritter, “how special this guy looks already, being so young and what he’s going to be. In a couple years, that guy, maybe even sooner, is going to be a top-five receiver in this league. I don’t expect Joe and them to roll over in any way in this game.” The Steelers are favored by 10 points, though the game could be closer. According to Ritter, “you can’t bet against Pittsburgh right now. I think they win this one.” Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots, Sunday, November 15 @ 8:20 p.m. (NBC) The Patriots, with their continuing struggles, almost handed the lowly New York Jets their first win. They’ll need to play a whole lot better to keep pace with the Ravens and improve upon their 3-5 record this week. The Ravens have their own issues , which, given their 6-2 record and personnel, are the kind of issues most teams would be happy to have. Baltimore leads the league in rushing, averaging 170.1 yards per game. Their passing game is only slightly more productive, putting up just 176.9 yards per game, among the NFL’s worst. > > READ: Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 10: Broncos Rookie KJ Hamler Beginning To Emerge The offensive issues were evident against the Indianapolis Colts defense, admittedly one of the league’s best. “That offense did not look good in the first half,” says Ritter. “[In the] second half, we start to see Lamar Jackson the MVP from last season a little bit. Kind of get into his groove, kind of take the game over.” A lot of the focus falls on the wide receivers and allowing them to make plays. According to Ritter, “there’s so much talk about the Ravens wide receivers and them not winning at the line of scrimmage in terms of those one-on-one-matchups. They have to get Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown the ball. There has been a lot of talk here in Baltimore and around the country about finding ways to get this guy the opportunities. And that falls on Greg Roman. He’s only had about 50 yards receiving the last two weeks. This is their number-one receiver. He can take the top off of the defense. He can get behind those safeties. In order for this passing game to get to that next level, they have to get ‘Hollywood’ Brown involved.” The offense has become predictable. “Lamar Jackson said today that defenses are calling out their plays on offense,” Ritter relayed. “Obviously, that’s a big concern, and it falls on the offensive coordinator. They have to switch things up, they have to get going.” Dez Bryant, recently activated from the Ravens’ practice squad, could help change that. Though it’s hard to expect too much from a receiver who hasn’t played since 2017. Despite their offensive issues, the Ravens remain a playoff contender, even as they chase the the Steelers. “They’re going to be okay,” says Ritter. “They’re going to make the playoffs. Lamar can take over a game. They have time to fix this stuff in the backend of the season with a favorable schedule. I have the Ravens winning this game on Sunday night football. Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 10: Broncos Rookie KJ Hamler Beginning To Emerge
By Matt Citak ( CBS Boston )- Well folks, Week 10 is here, which means we have entered the final month of the fantasy regular season. For most leagues, the fantasy postseason kicks off in Week 14. This means there are only four more weeks to clinch your spot in the playoffs, rise in the standings, or even seal that first-round bye. For the first time in what seems like a while, we survived a weekend of games without any significant injuries to fantasy contributors. Several players suffered concussions, paving the way for short-term relevance for some backups, while other lowly-owned players put up solid performances. While it may not be the biggest week on the waiver wire, there are still some solid pickups available. With that said, here are the top waiver wire adds for Week 10. Quarterback Credit: Norm Hall/Getty Images QB Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins- After a rough first start, Tua rebounded in a big way on Sunday. The fifth overall pick in this year’s draft completed just over 71 percent of his passes against the Arizona Cardinals, finishing with 248 passing yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions, adding seven carries for 35 yards. Over the next three weeks, Tua will face off against the Chargers, Broncos and Jets, all of whom rank in the top 10 in most fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. The rookie has a fantastic opportunity to string together a few good performances in a row, making him a great streaming option for at least the next three weeks. QB Drew Lock, Denver Broncos- The Broncos offense has been difficult to trust all season, but there is no denying that the unit performs significantly better with Lock under center. In Denver’s disappointing Week 9 loss to the Falcons, Lock completed just 52 percent of his passes. However, he threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns, while picking up 47 yards and an additional touchdown on the ground. This upcoming week, Lock and the Broncos will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders, who just allowed Justin Herbert to throw for 326 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Lock is firmly on the streaming radar in Week 10. Running Back RB Duke Johnson, Houston Texans- One of the players to suffer a concussion in Week 9 was Texans running back David Johnson. Following the injury, Duke Johnson stepped into the role of the team’s lead back, and while he wasn’t terribly effective, he did end up having his best game of the season. Johnson finished with a season-high 16 carries, gaining 41 yards and scoring a touchdown, and caught all four of his targets for 32 yards. If David Johnson is unable to suit up this week, Duke Johnson will make a solid fantasy play for a Week 10 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. While we won’t know David Johnson’s game status until late in the week, add Duke Johnson now in case he’s thrust into the lead role again. RB J.D. McKissic, Washington Football Team- Antonio Gibson is clearly the most talented running Credit: Greg Fiume/Getty Images back in Washington’s backfield, but that hasn’t stopped McKissic from getting his fair share of touches. Now with Kyle Allen out indefinitely and Alex Smith under center, McKissic could see his role grow even more. In the Week 9 loss to the Giants, McKissic was targeted a whopping 14 times, turning it into nine receptions for 65 yards. In the two games Smith has filled in for Allen, he has attempted 49 passes with 18 of them going in McKissic’s direction. That is an incredible 36.7 percent target share. While that mark is likely not sustainable, Smith does have a history of targeting his running backs a lot. Allen could be the starting QB for the remainder of the season, which should bode well for McKissic’s fantasy value moving forward. If he’s still available on the wire, grab McKissic and don’t think twice about it. RB Jordan Wilkins, Indianapolis Colts- Following Marlon Mack’s season-ending injury in Week 1, Jonathan Taylor was supposed to take over as the Colts’ bell cow back. But after receiving 26 carries in Week 2, Taylor has topped 13 rush attempts just once over the last six games. Taylor got just six carries in Week 9 after seeing only 11 the week prior. Meanwhile, Wilkins has carried the ball 31 times in the last two weeks combined, gaining 128 yards and a touchdown. It appears as if there has been a changing of the guard in Indy, and while this backfield may be hard to trust moving forward, it looks like Wilkins is now the preferred ball-carrier. Over the next six weeks, the Colts get to face off against the Titans, Packers, Titans again, Texans, Raiders and Texans again. All four of those teams are currently in the top 10 in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. If Indy commits to Wilkins as the lead back, he could end up being a league-winner. RB Kallen Ballage, Los Angeles Chargers- The other running back injury to occur in Week 9 was Justin Jackson’s knee injury suffered on the first play of the game. Brutal luck for anyone who had Jackson in their lineup, but it did pave the way for journeyman back Kallen Ballage to see his first significant action as a Charger. Ballage finished with a team-high 15 carries for 69 yards (4.6 yards per carry) and a touchdown while catching two of three targets for 15 yards. Joshua Kelley has been disappointing since Austin Ekeler’s injury, but the rookie fourth round pick did end up catching five passes for 31 yards in Week 9. It’s unclear how serious Jackson’s injury is, although the fact that he got hurt so early in the game and did not return is not a good sign. Couple that with Austin Ekeler’s likely return in the near future, and it does not look like Ballage will remain fantasy relevant for too long. However, until Jackson and/or Ekeler are back, Ballage looks like the Chargers’ lead runner, placing him on the fantasy radar. Wide Receiver WR Curtis Samuel, Carolina Panthers- Don’t look now but Samuel has registered a touchdown in three consecutive games. The fourth-year receiver enjoyed the best game of his 2020 campaign against the Chiefs in Week 9, catching a season-high nine passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. Samuel has also earned several rush attempts each game, as he added three carries for 13 yards and recorded a touchdown run in both Weeks 7 and 8. It is clear that the Panthers want to get the ball in Samuel’s hands as much as possible. After being held out of the end zone in the first five weeks of the season, Samuel now has four total touchdowns over the last three games. Samuel should be a priority add for anyone in need of some help at wide receiver. WR K.J. Hamler, Denver Broncos- While the Broncos are certainly disappointed by their Week 9 loss to the Falcons, the team must be encouraged by the performance of some of its young offensive players. We already touched on Drew Lock, while Jerry Jeudy just had the best game of his rookie campaign, and he’s not the only receiver to do so. Hamler was targeted 10 times against Atlanta, catching six of those passes for 75 yards and adding one run for 15 yards. After a hamstring injury sidelined him earlier in the season, Hamler finally appears fully healthy and his production supports this. Hamler also returned one punt and one kickoff return in Week 9, highlighting the fact that the Broncos want the ball in their rookie third round pick’s hands. Hamler could step up as the number two option in the Broncos’ passing game behind Jeudy, a role which should plant him firmly on the fantasy map. WR Danny Amendola, Detroit Lions- Kenny Golladay missed this one due to the hip injury suffered in Week 8, which allowed Amendola to fill in as Matthew Stafford’s favorite target. In the first two weeks of the season with Golladay sidelined, Amendola was targeted seven times each game. In Week 9, Amendola led the Lions with 10 targets while no other receiver had more than five. The slot receiver turned those targets into seven receptions for 77 yards, but was held out of the end zone yet again. Amendola is yet to score this season, but offers a solid floor when Golladay is not on the field. If Golladay is unable to go this week, Amendola should make a solid FLEX play against Washington, who’s strength in the secondary lies on the outside with Kendall Fuller. Tight End TE Austin Hooper, Cleveland Browns- Hooper missed the last two games leading up to Cleveland’s Week 9 bye, which is why he has seemingly fallen off the radar for many fantasy owners. In the three weeks prior to that, Hooper was targeted a total of 23 times, finishing with five receptions for either 50+ yards or finishing with a touchdown in each contest. Hooper has yet to take the field since Odell Beckham’s season-ending injury, which will likely lead to Baker Mayfield leaning on his tight end even more. In Week 10, Hooper and the Browns will welcome the Houston Texans to Cleveland. In one game against the Texans last year, Hooper, then a member of the Falcons, caught six passes for 56 yards. Hooper is a TE1 in this matchup, and could end up being a reliable option at fantasy’s weakest position for the rest of the season depending on the play of Mayfield. With Travis Kelce and Hayden Hurst both on byes, you’d be hard pressed to find a better replacement than Hooper this week.

Fantasy Football Start Or Sit Week 9: Chase Edmonds, J.K. Dobbins In Line For Bigger Workloads This Week
( CBS Local )- The season is past the midway point and there wasn’t much action at the trade deadline to speak of that will influence fantasy owners in terms of workloads for various position players. However, there are still injuries to keep in mind and what those injuries mean for the players stepping in to fill that void. This week, that is where Jamey Eisenberg of the Fantasy Football Today show is looking for his start of the week. Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds looks to be in line for the bulk of the work this week against the Miami Dolphins. “Edmonds is in a great spot taking over for Kenyan Drake, he’s out with an ankle injury. Dolphins run defense has been good. But, I think the workload for Edmonds is what you want to buy into here. Excellent setup for him if he gets the 18-plus touches that Drake has gotten in five of the seven games so far. Edmonds hasn’t needed much work to be successful. This could be a blow up game for him.” In addition to Edmonds, Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins and Washington Football Team’s J.D. McKissic are on Eisenberg’s list to start this week. On the other hand, Jonathan Taylor of the Colts going against Dobbins’ Ravens? Dave Richard is advising that you may want to leave him on the bench this week. “He just has not looked good. And when Jordan Wilkins looks better than you, there’s something wrong. I think the Colts have recognized this and they’re probably going to split the workload that we thought would theoretically be Jonathan Taylor’s by now,” said Richard. “Until we see that rectified, I can’t trust Taylor in my lineup. And, by the way, they’re taking on the Ravens, that’s a pretty good run defense.” Along with Taylor, Richard advises to look elsewhere if you can with both Melvin Gordon and Ronald Jones this week. Fantasy Football Start Or Sit Week 9: Chase Edmonds, J.K. Dobbins In Line For Bigger Workloads This Week
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Matt Barkley had just put the finishing touches on a stunning victory when he jogged over to the sideline, found his mother in the stands and handed her his well-deserved game ball. It was quite a moment for the Buffalo Bills quarterback, who looked nothing like a guy who had no job and an uncertain future just a few weeks ago. Barkley sparked Buffalo’s bumbling offense with two touchdown passes, including one to offensive tackle Dion Dawkins , LeSean McCoy broke out of a season-long slump with 113 yards rushing and a pair of TD runs, and the Bills embarrassed the New York Jets 41-10 on Sunday. “For me, I knew I could play in this league,” Barkley said. “To get back out there after two years, it was, and I don’t want to be cliché by saying it was like riding a bike, but I’ve done this for years. I feel like I was made to play football and (today) was an example of going out there and doing what I was made to do.” The New York Jets coaching staff looks on during the second quarter of an embarrassing 41-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium on Nov. 11, 2018. (Photo by Michael Owens/Getty Images) Barkley made his first start in nearly two years, and looked the best of any of the four quarterbacks the Bills (3-7) have trotted out this season. The 28-year-old journeyman was 15 of 25 for 232 yards while helping Buffalo snap a four-game losing streak as the Bills put up 451 yards of total offense. Barkley got the nod from coach Sean McDermott ahead of the ineffective Nathan Peterman despite having just two weeks of practice with the Bills since signing on Oct. 30. Rookie Josh Allen has missed four straight games with a sprained right elbow, and Derek Anderson is sidelined with a concussion. Barkley’s last start came in the 2016 season finale for Chicago. Now the question is: Should Barkley be the Bills’ starter moving forward? “I don’t know,” Barkley said. “That’s a question I don’t have the answer to, nor the authority to answer. I’ll be ready to play. This QB situation seems to be fluctuating. In whatever way I can help this team, that’s my goal.” Added McDermott: “Give me some time on that.” Meanwhile, the hot seat under coach Todd Bowles reached a boiling point as the Jets (3-7) got completely manhandled by a team that entered with a league-low 96 points and had two touchdowns in its previous four games. “Everything that could’ve gone wrong went wrong,” Bowles said. “We stunk it up as coaches, we stunk it up as players.” MORE : If Jets Don’t Beat Putrid Bills All Hell Should Break Loose The Jets have a bye-week break and the future of Bowles, in his fourth season, is in serious doubt. Owner Christopher Johnson declined comment to reporters after the game. “We’re going to try like hell to win our last six games,” Bowles said. New York started 39-year-old Josh McCown in place of injured rookie Sam Darnold, but he couldn’t prevent the Jets from their fourth straight loss in front of a frustrated fan base that booed lustily throughout. McCown was 17 of 34 for 135 yards with two interceptions, and the Jets finished with just 199 total yards. “That’s the first time I felt like somebody really smacked us,” cornerback Morris Claiborne said, “and we didn’t do nothing about it.” Barkley certainly didn’t look rusty, launching a 47-yard pass to Robert Foster on the Bills’ first offensive play. Foster, just promoted from the practice squad, beat top Jets cornerback Trumaine Johnson, who had missed the previous five games with an injured quadriceps. On the next play, Barkley handed off to McCoy, who scored his first touchdown of the season with a 28-yard run that gave Buffalo a 7-0 lead 49 seconds in. Barkley and the Bills took a 14-0 lead midway through the opening quarter on a fluky play. On third-and-7 from the 11, Zay Jones caught a pass and took it 10 yards before fumbling as he reached the goal line. Tight end Jason Croom recovered in the end zone for a touchdown that was upheld by video review. The 14-play, 73-play drive was prolonged by a fake punt on fourth-and-6 from the Bills 47 when the ball was snapped directly to tight end Logan Thomas, a quarterback at Virginia Tech. Thomas then completed a 19-yard pass to Foster for the first down. The Bills outgained the Jets 186-1 after one quarter, and added to their lead less than two minutes into the second quarter on Stephen Hauschka’s 54-yard field goal that made it 17-0. If there was any doubt as to where this game was headed, the Bills added in some trickery — and embarrassment for the Jets — on their next drive. Dawkins lined up as an eligible receiver on first-and-goal from the 7. Barkley, of course, found the 6-foot-5, 320-pound lineman wide open for a touchdown. The Jets had another brutal sequence on their next possession, when they had three — yes, three — holding penalties called on one play. Then McCown, facing a blitz, threw the ball up down the left sideline and Matt Milano picked it off. Seven plays later, McCoy ran it in from the 1 — moments after it was ruled he was down there and had a TD reversed — to put Buffalo up 31-0. THE REAL McCOY McCoy surpassed 500 career points, and vaulted into 26th place on the career yards rushing list. He also topped 100 yards rushing for the first time since gaining 156 in a 13-7 overtime win over Indianapolis on Dec. 10. “It’s like that big monkey’s off my back a little bit,” McCoy said. INJURIES Bills CB Taron Johnson left in the third quarter with a shoulder injury and didn’t return. … Milano left to be evaluated for a head injury in the fourth quarter. … The Jets reported no injuries. UP NEXT Bills : Bye. Home vs. Jacksonville on Nov. 25. Jets : Bye. Home vs. New England on Nov. 25. (© Copyright 2018 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved. This Day in History — July 30
Ryan Mayer While running backs are generally the first few players off the board in standard leagues, top-tier wide receivers can be a huge value if you have one of the later first-round picks in a snake draft. This offers you the opportunity to double up on pass-catching machines and can be a big boost to your roster overall. With draft dates being set and draft orders being selected, you probably know where you stand. The guys below could still be there late in the first round or early in the second. As we’ve noted before, the rankings below are based on CBSSports.com’s projection system for standard leagues only. PPR, particularly for receivers, is a whole different ball game, and you can find those CBSSports.com rankings here . Let’s begin. Positions | QB | RB | Credit: Justin K. Aller/Getty Images 1) Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers Brown is far and away the number-one receiver option in both styles of leagues. Last year, he posted 101 receptions for 1,533 yards and nine touchdowns, totaling 201 standard points, and you can tell the PPR value was high there as well. This season, CBSSports.com expects Brown to top even that ridiculously high number of fantasy points, making him not only the top receiver, but likely a top-five pick in most drafts. CBSSports.com Projection- 203 Fantasy Points (12.7 FPPG) 108 receptions, 1,538 yards and 10 TDs 2) DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans As much as we sang the praises of Antonio Brown above, can you guess who actually put up more fantasy points last season? Yep, that would be Hopkins, who did so despite having Deshaun Watson for only seven games and playing the other nine with the motley crew of Tom Savage and T.J. Yates. He posted 205 fantasy points last season, which is why this year’s projection seems surprisingly low. My guess would be that the projection system is expecting Will Fuller, Bruce Ellington and others to siphon away some of Hopkins’ targets. CBSSports.com Projection- 166 Fantasy Points (10.4 FPPG) 88 receptions, 1,246 yards and 9 TDs 3) Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons Jones and the Falcons are currently at odds over his contract situation, which means he’s missing training camp time. However, I wouldn’t expect that to affect his performance much once the season rolls around. If anything, he could be healthier, having not played in preseason games. Jones ranked fourth among receivers last year in CBSSports.com’s scoring system with 155 total fantasy points, and the projections are higher for this year. CBSSports.com Projection- 162 Fantasy Points (10.1 FPPG) 97 receptions, 1,387 yards and 5 TDs Credit: Harry How/Getty Images 4) Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Charges Finally fully healthy last year, Allen put up monster numbers for L.A. He finished with 102 receptions for 1,393 yards and six touchdowns, while being targeted 159 (!) times. That kind of heavy target load shouldn’t decrease much, as the Mike Williams is still unproven and Travis Benjamin is simply average. The projection system is pegging him to finish with right around the same numbers from last season. CBSSports.com Projection- 161 Fantasy Points (10 FPPG) 104 receptions, 1,353 yards and 6 TDs 5) Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers Adams became the Packers’ number-one option last season, racking up 74 catches on 117 targets for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns. That’s all without Aaron Rodgers for over half the season. This year, with a healthy Rodgers, and Adams being the go-to guy among his weapons, you should expect a solid season from the fifth-year receiver. CBSSports.com Projection- 152 Fantasy Points (9.5 FPPG) 87 receptions, 1,017 yards and 10 TDs > > MORE: Fantasy Football Draft Prep 6) T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts Hilton’s numbers dropped significantly last season without Andrew Luck, but that’s understandable. With Luck reportedly returning to full health, and Hilton the only truly proven option in the receiving corps, the projection system is calling for a resurgence. CBSSports.com Projection- 149 Fantasy Points (9.3 FPPG) 79 receptions, 1,139 yards and 7 TDs Credit: Stephen Maturen/Getty Images 7) Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints Thomas posted higher totals in both the receptions (104) and yardage (1,245) department in his sophomore season in 2017, though his TD numbers dropped a bit with Alvin Kamara siphoning away red-zone opportunities. Still, Thomas is a top option at the wide receiver spot, and the projections have him falling almost in line with last year’s numbers. CBSSports.com Projection- 148 Fantasy Points (9.2 FPPG) 102 receptions 1,199 yards and 6 TDs 8) Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants OBJ’s injury derailed his season in 2017, and caused fantasy owners frustration in the process. When healthy, he’s a dominant and explosive option capable of putting up a big day any given week. With rookie running back Saquon Barkley in the fold, defenses have someone else to worry about and won’t be able to focus as much attention on Beckham, leading to potentially more explosive plays. In the final year of his rookie deal, you know he’ll want to show out to prove he deserves a big-money extension. CBSSports.com Projections- 148 Fantasy Points (9.2 FPPG) 103 receptions, 1,167 yards and 7 TDs 9) A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals Green had a typically solid season in 2017, despite a bad year overall for the Bengals. He hauled in 75 receptions for 1,078 yards and eight touchdowns, in spite of brutal play from the rest of the offense and a largely ineffective Andy Dalton. Cincy brought in some offensive-line help this offseason which should theoretically give Dalton more time and allow him to be more accurate when targeting Green. Either way, Green has proven capable of putting up big numbers. That overshadowed a regular season in which he put up a career-high in touchdowns (8) despite 20 fewer receptions and 17 fewer targets. He has a new QB in Kirk Cousins to develop chemistry with, but the projections are high on Diggs, having him round out the top 10. Fantasy Football Preview: Top 10 Wide Receivers
Fantasy Football Preview: Top 10 Wide Receivers
BRANSON, Mo. (AP) — The 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank in a Missouri lake were remembered Sunday during a service attended by around 200 people in the tourism community of Branson. A church bell at Williams Chapel at College of the Ozarks chimed 17 times for those who died Thursday at Table Rock Lake, the Joplin Globe reported. “Today we honor the 17 lives that were lost,” said Branson Mayor Karen Best. “We honor the 14 survivors. And we honor the many heroes who did everything in their power to save lives.” The service was held at the college near the site of the accident, which happened as winds approached hurricane strength. The city and college hosted the remembrance for the victims. Nine of the people who died were part of one Indiana family. Online fundraisers had raised more than $400,000 for their funeral expenses by Sunday afternoon. Tia Coleman opened up yesterday about losing her husband, three children and five other family members in the tragedy. Two GoFundMe campaigns are underway for the Coleman family, who lost three generations in the duck boat accident. (credit: CNN) GoFundMe spokeswoman Katherine Cichy says it’s verified one campaign that’s raising money. Ingrid Coleman Douglas tells The Indianapolis Star a second campaign is also legitimate. Others killed were from Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois. (@Copyright 2018. The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.)

Bell Chimes 17 Times At Memorial For Branson Boat Victims
BRANSON, Mo. (CBSNews/AP) — More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a lake in Missouri were members of the same I ndiana family , and they likely would not have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up. Others who died in the accident at Table Rock Lake included a Missouri couple who had recently celebrated a birthday, a longtime Rhode Island pastor who was operating the boat, and an Indiana father and son. The Stone County Sheriff’s Department identified the Indiana family members as 45-year-old Angela Coleman, 1-year-old Arya Coleman, 69-year-old Belinda Coleman, 76-year-old Ervin Coleman, 7-year-old Evan Coleman, 40-year-old Glenn Coleman, 70-year-old Horace Coleman, 2-year-old Maxwell Coleman, and 9-year-old Reece Coleman. A relative of the family, Kim Thomas Sr., said they’re taking the news hard. “The kids are doing better than we are. We have to live in this world; they have gone to the other side,” said Thomas, 51, of Indianapolis, whose cousin, Tia Coleman, was one of two members of the family to survive the accident at Table Rock Lake near Branson. Coleman said the boat’s captain told them “don’t worry about grabbing the life jackets. You won’t need them” — so none of the family members grabbed them. “However in doing that, when it was time to grab them, it was too late and I believe that a lot of people could have been spared,” she told CBS Indianapolis affiliate WTTV . “The only thing that I would like to be done but can’t, is to bring my family back.” Others who died were 69-year-old William Asher, 68-year-old Rosemarie Hamann, 63-year-old Janice Bright, 65-year-old William Bright, and the crew member operating the boat, 73-year-old Bob Williams, all from Missouri. Also killed were 64-year-old Leslie Dennison of Illinois, and 53-year-old Steve Smith and his son, 15-year-old Lance Smith, both from Arkansas. State and federal investigators were trying to determine what sent the vessel known as a duck boat to its demise in what was the deadliest accident of its kind in early two decades. An initial assessment blamed thunderstorms and winds that approached hurricane strength, but it wasn’t clear why the amphibious vehicle even ventured into the water. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the area Thursday, saying conditions were ripe for winds of 70 mph. It followed up at 6:32 p.m. with a severe thunderstorm warning for three counties that included Branson and the lake. The warning mentioned both locations. The boat went down about 40 minutes later, shortly after 7 p.m. Suzanne Smagala with Ripley Entertainment, which owns Ride the Ducks in Branson, said the company was assisting authorities with their investigation. She said this was the company’s only accident in more than 40 years of operation. Twenty-nine passengers and two crew members were aboard. Seven of the 14 survivors were hurt. The captain survived, authorities said. Among the injured was 14-year-old Loren Smith of Osceola, Arkansas. Her father, retired math teacher Steve Smith, and her brother died in the accident. Loren suffered a concussion. “It’s a hard thing,” Steve Smith’s father, Carroll Smith, said of losing his only child and his only grandson. “It’s a very difficult day.” Branson Mayor Karen Best said Williams, the boat driver, was known by many as “Captain Bob” and was a “great ambassador” for the city. “He was at every event. He knew everyone. He was always promoting Branson,” Best said. Williams’ family in Rhode Island, where he’d lived for decades before retiring to Branson, remembered him as a deeply religious man who founded a local church. “Pastor Bob was a prince of a man, loving, kind, and generous, whose loss to our family is incalculable,” said Williams’ son-in-law, Bishop Jeffery Williams, who now leads King’s Cathedral in Providence. “I truly believe in my heart that he died trying to save those people,” one of Williams’ neighbors, Charlie ‘Ray’ Revill, said at a vigil Friday night. “Bob Williams was the finest man I’ve ever known.” Hamann and Asher, a St. Louis-area couple killed in the accident, had been celebrating Hamman’s birthday earlier in the week. Her final Facebook photo was a selfie with Asher. He’s sticking his tongue out, and she’s smiling. Friend Russ McKay said he talked to Hamann the day before the accident to say they had just gone on a paddle boat and were planning to go again. He doesn’t know why they chose the duck boat instead. “I can only imagine what they were going through. They were so in love. It’s just heartbreaking,” McKay said. An email message seeking comment from Ripley Entertainment about Coleman’s comment was not immediately returned. Named for their ability to travel on land and in water, duck boats have been involved in other serious accidents in the past, including the deaths of more than 40 people since 1999. The Ride the Ducks tour begins in downtown Branson, where the vehicles take passengers on a tour while the captain cracks jokes and points out landmarks. Eventually, the boats pull up to the lake and slowly enter the water with a small splash. After a few minutes on the water, the vehicles return to land and to their home base, which features a store selling candy and souvenirs. (© 2018 CBS Interactive Inc. All Rights Reserved.
