Wake To Be Held For 5 Children Killed In Union City Fire

UNION CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A wake will be held Tuesday for five children who were killed in a house fire in Union City. Four siblings and a cousin between the ages of 2 and 13 died after flames ripped through their three-story, multi-family home on July 13. Their funeral will be held Wednesday morning at Saint Anthony of Padua Church on 8th Street. A man and a woman who were injured in the fire are recovering. The cause of the blaze is still unknown.

2 Killed At House Fire In Leimert Park

LEIMERT PARK (CBSLA) — Two people were killed at a house fire Sunday in Leimert Park, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The deceased have not been identified. They are an 8-year-old boy and a 67-year-old female. Two people were injured and transported to a local hospital in fair condition — an 83-year-old female and a 42-year-old female. Two other people were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A 13-year-old male and an 11-year-old female were not injured. Firefighters dispatched at 11:08 a.m. to a one-story home at 3971 S. 2nd Ave. had the fire out within 22 minutes of their arrival, according to the LAFD. 95-Year-Old Woman Killed In Canarsie House Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A fire claimed the life of a 95-year-old woman Saturday in Brooklyn. The FDNY responded to a house fire around 3 p.m. on East 93rd Street in Canarsie. Once the flames were out, firefighters discovered the bedridden woman in the basement. The victim’s daughter told CBS2’s Reena Roy she tried to get her out but the smoke was too heavy.
