By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer Good Sunday morning and Happy Veterans Day! It’s gonna be a beautiful-looking finish to the weekend, but it will be on the brisk side once again! Temps will reach the low & mid 40s, but thankfully the winds won’t be an issue like on Saturday. CBS2 Thing change Monday as we get more clouds in front of our next storm system. Temps will be a few degrees warmer, closer to 50, but it’ll still be a chilly rain developing late Monday night and lasting through much of Tuesday. CBS2 We’re in for a bitter chill midweek as temps hover in the low 40s for afternoon highs…make sure you find your winter wardrobe now!

7/25 CBS2 Wednesday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer We are starting out this morning muggy & wet. Strong, southerly flow continues to dominate. Today there will be more widespread and stronger storms that move through the area. This will add quite a bit of rain to our monthly total. Cloudy skies and the rain will cause temperatures not to rise that much. We started out with a warm & humid morning low in the mid 70s but we will only get up to about 79 by this afternoon. CBS2 Today looks to be the wettest day of the week. The rain will continue tomorrow but there will be more breaks. It will start to clear out Friday, just in time for the weekend! CBS2 Humidity will continue to be high and won’t let up for a while. Try and stay dry. Don’t forget the umbrella!

7/24 CBS2 Tuesday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer The rain is here to stay and won’t break for a while. The low pressure system to the south and the high pressure off-shore is churning up strong southerly winds. This is causing heavy bouts of moisture to be pumped into the area. These are slow moving systems, which is why this pattern will continue on for the rest of the week. Humidity will also continue to rise so it’s going to be a very sticky week as well. CBS2 Temperatures didn’t drop much from yesterday. We started out the day in the mid 70s! They will rise by this afternoon to the low 80s. Most of the heavy rain will come tomorrow but there may be a few isolated showers and thunderstorms. These will occur mostly north and west of the city. Make sure to keep an umbrella handy this week!

7/23 CBS2 Monday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer The story doesn’t change much this afternoon as we’re anticipating scattered showers and isolated storms across the area. Even if you’re spared by the rains, you’re stuck with that breezy, tropical air out there. (Credit: CBS2) Some showers will be felt tonight, but the overall flooding risk will remain low. It will still be muggy out there, too, with temps only falling into the mid 70s. (Credit: CBS2) We’re in for another round of scattered showers and storms tomorrow with the focus more so inland. It will remain sticky and breezy with highs in the low 80s. (Credit: CBS2) Then Wednesday through Wednesday night we’ll see more widespread showers and thunderstorms. This, of course, translates to potentially more flooding around the area. As always, there will be more details to come, so stay tuned!

It’s gonna be a warmer & much more humid day…highs reach the low 80s with some sunshine peeking through…but some storms are once again possible this afternoon as a result of heat & humidity. (Credit: CBS2) Looking forward to the week ahead, it does appear that the forecast will be on repeat – expect temps in the low & mid 80s along with muggy conditions each day. In addition, we’ll also be adding in thunderstorm chances to the forecast each day. While no day will be a washout, you’ll want to keep the umbrella handy. Matt DeLucia CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer Well, our sunny stretch is unfortunately coming to an end. We’re starting off dry this morning with some bright skies, but that changes as we get into afternoon. Increasing clouds will lead to some rain after 5pm. Highs will be in the upper 70s, but the humidity will be up from yesterday. (Credit: CBS2) The real soaking takes place overnight. Rain, heavy at times, with some gusty winds 30-40 mph, especially after midnight. (Credit: CBS2) By Sunday morning, there’s still rain out there, but it’ll become more scattered in the afternoon. Its a touch warmer into the low 80s. (Credit: CBS2) While no day is a washout, there’s a chance of at least a few showers/storms each day next week. Have a good one!

It’s another dynamite afternoon out there with mostly sunny skies and a nice breeze off the water. So take a stroll at some point if you can, it’s really our last day of decent weather, unfortunately. (Credit: CBS2) You can proceed with the plans tonight as high pressure remains in control. Those starlit skies will be accompanied by pleasant temps, so it will be nice and mild out there. (Credit: CBS2) Clouds will be on the move tomorrow with rain becoming likely late in the afternoon and early evening. It will be a little cooler, too, with temps stuck in the 70s. (Credit: CBS2) Heavier rain fills in tomorrow night, so the potential is there for localized flooding. The good news is the worst of the rain should wrap up by early Sunday, but scattered showers are still possible into the afternoon.

What a pleasant way to finish the week! (Credit: CBS2) Skies are going to be bright today with plenty of sunshine to complement the warm temperatures. We started off this morning in the high 60s and jump about 20 degrees by this afternoon. The rain will stay clear today, not arriving until late tomorrow, so take advantage of the sunny weather now. Before this week were were running dry for year. However, after the line of the storms that rolled through the area early in the week, we are now caught up on rain for the year. CBS2 7/19 Thursday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer Another picture perfect, summery day ahead of us. This morning started off in the mid 60s around NYC, but cooler temps were observed north & west. Temps will steadily climb to the mid 80s today. Bright, blue skies will hold out throughout the day and tomorrow. Humidity will stay low today, so it will be another great day to be outdoors. CBS2 Today and tomorrow are going to be the best beach days for the week, as rain will pop back up in the forecast this weekend. If you do decide to venture out, make sure to wear sunscreen, as the UV index is high today! Temperatures will stay in a low to mid 80 trend over the next couple of days, going into next week. Humidity will start to come back up slightly this weekend, but won’t be as oppressive as the previous couple of days. Take advantage of the low humidity today!

By Giorgio Panetta CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer Things will be firing up today, as the cold front brings through a perfect line of storms. It will be a good thing to bring out the umbrella, in case you get caught in a down pour. The front will move through quickly though and we can get back to the fine and sunny week ahead! CBS2 The rain won’t take away the heat today though! Temperatures didn’t drop much last night and we started off the morning in the mid 70s! Temperatures will continue to rise to the high 80s today. CBS2 Humidity will stay high, so coupled with the showers and high temperatures it’s going to be textbook definition muggy. The heat advisory wills stay in affect until this evening so make sure to also stay hydrated, as feel like temperatures will be in the 90s. Try and stay dry out there today!

By Bree Guy CBS2 Weather Intern Temps are getting up there! We are expecting to just scrape 90 today. (Credit: CBS2) Along with the high temperatures, there will be high humidity. Light and loose clothing is recommended. (Credit: CBS2) There will be a heat advisory in the city that branches out to western and northern areas. Also, what has become the normal for this month, an air quality alert will be in affect for northern areas so take precautions if you have sensitive respiratory issues. There may be a pop up shower this afternoon but it looks like most of it avoids the area and moves out pretty quickly. If it doesn’t come during the afternoon, there is also a chance it may roll through later tonight but it’s still the same fast moving story. (Credit: CBS2) Tomorrow is when the brunt of the rain will occur so make sure to bring the umbrella. Overall, the rest of the week is looking amazing with mid-80 degree temperatures and the humidity even starts to come down later in the week.

We’re starting off the work week with a scorcher…temps this morning already touching 80 and we’ll keep going until the upper 80s & mid 90s in spots! (Credit: CBS2) Coupled with the humidity, some spots will feel like 100 degrees! A Heat Advisory is in effect today & tomorrow due to the high heat & humidity. (Credit: CBS2) A few isolated thundershowers are possible this afternoon, but the real rain threat will be tomorrow as a cold front approaches. While we’ll be a touch cooler, it’ll still be rather hot & very humid before that front. Some storms could produce torrential rain leading to localized flooding…so be extra cautious! (Credit: CBS2) It looks like we dry out for the rest of the week with much lower humidity, so we just have to get through today & tomorrow!
