SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA) — One motorcyclist was shot and killed and a second has been hospitalized Friday after gunfire erupted on the 210 Freeway in San Bernardino, which has been closed until further notice. Officers responding to the eastbound 210 Freeway at the 215 just before 4 a.m. discovered the two riders laying in lanes when they arrived. One man was declared dead at the scene, but the second was shot in the shoulder and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. A woman passenger was not injured. The two riders were apparently standing next to their motorcycles parked off the freeway when the shooting happened. It’s not clear if they had any sort of mechanical failure. It’s not clear what led to the shooting. Police are not sure if it was a passing driver who fired, and there’s no indication that the two men shot each other. CHP says lanes will be closed until further notice.

Ryan Mayer San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin signed a three-year $20 million contract extension with the team earlier this offseason after enjoying a breakout season in 2017. Now, he’s used that money to give back to his family, buying a house for his mother Tamina and his sister Deja, who suffers from cerebral palsy. Marquise is 10 months older than his sister, Deja, who has been confined to a wheelchair for most of her life. He told ESPN in 2013 that his sister has provided him with inspiration that has helped him get to where he is today. “If Deja wasn’t my sister, I feel like I would still be motivated but not in the way that I am today,” Goodwin told ESPN in 2013. “Having a disabled sister, that’s a lot more motivation, especially when she tells you growing up that she wishes she can be out there with the kids playing and she wishes she can be out there running around.” According to ESPN, doctors told Goodwin’s mother that Deja wouldn’t live past six months. This fall, she’ll be celebrating her 27th birthday. Goodwin, meanwhile, will look to build upon a season in which he set career highs for receptions (56) and receiving yards (962).

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — MoviePass will start to charge more for films and screening times that are in high demand. Users usually only pay a $10 fee to see as much as one movie per day in theaters. The new peak pricing means users could pay a few extra dollars to book the latest blockbuster on a Saturday night. It started rolling out surge pricing on Thursday. According to an email sent to customers, moviegoers will also be told when a showtime does not yet have an added fee. The company pays for users’ tickets and is apparently looking to make up for losses.
