CULVER CITY (CBSLA) — Would it be the king of all pizza parties? LeBron is hinting on Twitter that he could make an appearance at Blaze Pizza’s Culver City location to take part in the chain’s free pizza party. L.A.’s newest Laker officially signed his new four-year, nearly $154-million contract Monday night alongside his agent Rich Paul and Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka. But before putting pen to paper, he sent fans into a frenzy by hinting on Twitter that he could make an appearance at Blaze Pizza’s Culver City location. Haven’t been to a pizza party in a minute Culver City? https://t.co/1QxgALyekK — LeBron James (@KingJames) July 9, 2018 The chain had announced last week that it would celebrate James’ decision to join the Lakers by offering free pizza at 50 of its Southern California locations from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. James is an investor in the chain, and has previously gone undercover at its Pasadena store. This spot is right up the street from me, & this it looks like. It's a pretty small location, and there are gonna be Laker fans outside pounding on the windows like The Walking Dead if they don't have their security right. LeBron's about to get this mother torn down. pic.twitter.com/TqBQKb8WDJ — Laker Film Room (@LakerFilmRoom) July 9, 2018 They litteraly have like 50 parking spaces not to mention 10 different business in the same lot…there's gonna be people going to get holy cow wondering why a purple and gold mob is blocking the streets lmao — Bryan sanders philosophical couch potato (@BSanders2520) July 9, 2018 James nor his representatives have not confirmed the basketball superstar would indeed be at the Culver City location. But that hasn’t stopped die-hard fans like Janet Raines from staking out a spot outside the store, hours before it even opened. “It’d be just the opportunity of a lifetime, you know, shake his hand and to meet him,” she said. And even if he doesn’t end up showing up — at least there will be free pizza.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. (CBS Local) – A senior citizen in Florida is facing serious criminal charges after he was caught on video allegedly trying to attack his neighbor with a tractor. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office says 72-year-old Howell Morris got into an argument with Scott Lynch in mid-June. Lynch’s wife captured the property dispute on cellphone video before calling police. The Sheriff’s Office released those 911 calls to WJXT-TV on July 9. “When you say he came after your husband with his tractor, did he chase him down?” the 911 dispatcher asked. “Yeah. He chased him down on his tractor and my husband had to run,” Lynch’s wife replied. The victim told deputies a dispute escalated when the suspect climbed onto his tractor and chased him down his driveway, yelling, “Run, fat [expletive]!” https://t.co/De8tJwereS — Lisa Bell (@LisaBellNews6) July 10, 2018 The cellphone video shows Morris climbing into his tractor and driving after a fleeing Lynch while screaming, “Run, fat [expletive]!” Police arrested Morris on June 19 and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, which is a third-degree felony. The tractor driver was released on bond the next day and has been ordered to stay away from his neighbors.

The PGA TOUR schedule is jam-packed with exciting tournaments spread throughout the year and throughout the country. Every event is unique. And every player and fan has their favorites, along with personal reasons why those events are special them. But so many factors distinguish one event from another? We could look to the quality of the course and the field. We could look to the event’s past champions and significance in the game’s rich history. Or we could go in another direction. Gary McCord is a big fan of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which he lovingly calls “The Dumpster.” The event is played every February at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona, in front of larger, more boisterous crowds than are typically found on the PGA TOUR. In McCord’s view, “it is everything that’s not right about golf, and it’s fantastic.” We asked CBS Sports golf analysts and personalities Amanda Balionis, Gary McCord, Ian Baker-Finch, and Jim Nantz, what they think is the most exciting tournament on the PGA TOUR. Check out the video above for their answers. Tune in for CBS Sports’ coverage of the John Deere Classic, live from TPC Deere Run, Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15, 3:00 – 6:00 pm ET.
