2 Connecticut Men Plead Guilty In Bribery Scheme In Case Which Former FBI Agent Also Charged In
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) – Two Connecticut men have pleaded guilty in White Plains federal court to bribery and fraud charges in a case in which a former FBI agent is also charged. Johannes Thaler and Rizve Ahmed, originally from Bangladesh, entered pleas Friday. They were charged in the bribery plot along with Robert Lustyik, a former FBI agent in White Plains. He has pleaded not guilty to charges that he and Thaler solicited bribes in 2011 and 2012 from Ahmed for Lustyik to provide confidential documents. A November trial is scheduled. The 51-year-old Thaler lives in New Fairfield, Connecticut, while the 35-year-old Ahmed lives in Danbury, Connecticut. Both pleaded guilty to bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services and wire fraud. They each face up to 35 years in prison at Jan. 23 sentencing.
